It was hard to miss the launch of the Navy Australian Surf Rowers League season today.
Competitors from surf clubs across Queensland and the New South Wales north coast, donned very distinctive vests.
“Why we actually chose pink this year, I can’t quite put my finger on – but it certainly stands out, that’s one thing I suppose from a safety perspective – there is bouyancy inside the vest as well. I’m sure from a safety perspetive if some unfortunate incident did happen – you’d certainly be able to find a person with their navy vests.”
The event continues at Surfers Paradise beach tomorrow.
