Northern Rivers job seekers have 70 reasons to smile.
The state government has launched stage two of its Northern Rivers jobs plan which will create more than 70 full time jobs in the region.
“This is a diverse range of jobs, anything from expanding ice-cream production here at Norco to organic products, through to beef jerkey.”
The additional jobs couldn’t have come at a better time on the north coast.
116 jobs were lost last month when Telstra closed its Goonellabah call centre.
“It was a devastating blow to the community and now the announcement of these jobs, whilst its across the northern rivers and we are a regional area, its great to have these jobs.”
