COUNCIL INVESTIGATES TREE POISONING

Newcastle Council has launched an investigation into the deliberate poisoning of 25 eucalyptus trees near the popular Blackbutt Reserve at New Lambton.

Many of the trees were drilled into at the base, with others dying from poison dumped on the ground.

They’re situated alongside a creek line, which borders a stormwater drain on Blamey Avenue.

Council is now in the process of removing the trees.
