A man is clinging to life after a gas explosion levelled his house near Brays Creek, north west of Murwillumbah.
The 46-year-old woke up to a strong smell of gas from leaking LPG tanks.
It’s believed it exploded after he lit a cigarette, but luckily he was able to escape and call for help.

He was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital where he’s being treated for serious burns.
