Hundreds of volunteers rolled up their sleeves over the weekend as part of a huge, one day initiative called City Serve.
Among the 50 projects undertaken – home improvements for disadvantaged families and womens’ refuges, while shopfronts in Newcastle’s Hunter Street were given an overdue spruce up.
