The race for mayor in the Greater Taree electorate remains a close contest between candidates Paul Hogan and David West.
Incumbent Paul Hogan is leading the charge, holding just over 25 per cent of the primary vote.
Independent David West is trailing by around 1,600 votes.
The electoral commission expects to have a final result by tomorrow morning.
