A man in his fifties is recovering in Coffs Harbour Hospital, after he was king hit in Harbour Drive this afternoon.
Police arrested a man at the scene who had been drinking in the park with a group of homeless people.
Witnesses say the attack was unprovoked.
Paramedics treated the man, who suffered a seizure at the scene, before transporting him to Coffs Harbour hospital.
He is currently in a stable condition.
