10 months out from the Lake Macquarie mayoral elections, Labor has endorsed a candidate.
Councillor, mother of two, and proud unionist Jodie Harrison will attempt to be the city’s first female elected mayor.
“Have a real family perspective, but also am firmly of the belief that social justice should be a apart of Local Government. That we need to balance development and the environment for the Local Government area.”
Current mayor, Greg Piper, won’t contest the poll, and will instead focus on his career in state politics.
