Almost two weeks after the Olympic games wrapped up… it seems there’s still little time to rest for our athletes.
They’ve continued their welcome home tour in Brisbane.. with thousands turning out to watch a stream of green and gold weave through the CBD.
The Gold Coast’s remarkable medal haul was well and truly on show.. our Olympians brought home FOUR gold from London.
Today, champion hurdler and local girl Sally Pearson was first to greet fans.
“To be able to give back to your home state is absolutely fantastic.. Everyone here got up in the middle of the night to cheer everyone on.. so it’s really nice that we can do this for them.”
Tomorrow, it’s the Gold Coast’s turn..
Gates open at the Turf Club from 10 o’clock, with the Olympic Welcome Home at 11-thirty.
