Scone trainer Paul Messara has tweeted the stable is shattered after multiple group placegetter Rekindled Alliance died during trackwork this morning.
The boom colt, who finished fifth in the Australian Derby last April and won over $200,000 in prizemoney, was due to make his return to racing next week.
A son of glamour stallion Redoute’s Choice, Rekindled Alliance was purchased for $400,000, and was seen as a strong stallion prospect for owner Arrowfield Stud.
