HOUSE FIRE IN RALEIGH

Fire has ripped through a home at Raleigh, south of Coffs Harbour.

A passing driver raised the alarm around 11 this morning.

The Rural Fire Service and the Urunga Brigade managed to contain the blaze within half an hour, but a large section of the home couldn’t be saved.

“The house is not liveable at this stage there’s probably 25% of the kitchen area and back decks probably totally destroyed.”

Initial investigations suggest the fire started next to an outdoor spa.

The owners were on holidays at Scotts Head.
