The wraps are coming off beachfront improvement works at Merewether and Dixon Park in Newcastle.
John Parade has been reopened to one-way, northbound traffic… the footpath has been widened and a cycle lane included.
It’s part of the council’s ongoing Bather’s Way project, stretching from Nobbys to Merewether Beach.
The next section of path to be widened will be from Merewether Surf Club to Surf House… that’s due for completion next May.
