STENBERG FACES EXTRADITION OVER DECAPITATION

The man who led police on a hunt through the Northern Territory, accused of decapitating a man in Northern New South Wales, is due to face court today.

46-year-old Jonathon Andrew Stenberg is awaiting extradition after Northern Territory police found him in dense bushland near Darwin.

Police searched for Stenberg for six days, using aircraft, dogs and thermal imaging equipment.

Police say he had two loaded handguns and a rifle and gave himself up without a shot being fired.

It is alleged he murdered 54-year-old Edward Kelly at Broadwater just over a week ago.
