A 12-year-old boy faced court today after allegedly setting Newcastle’s St Pius High School on fire on Saturday.
The bill from the fire is in excess of $500,000, after the blaze caused irreparable structural damage to a building containing two halls and an office.
The 12-year-old was arrested yesterday and has been charged with destroying or damaging property.
He was granted conditional bail and will reappear in court on June 30.
