MAN HIT WITH BAT DURING ARMED ROBBERY AT ALSTONVILLE PIZZA SHOP
Three men have threatened staff with knives and baseball bats during a robbery at a pizza shop on the far north coast.
At around 9pm the men entered the Alstonville shop, and hit a staff member with the bat causing swelling and bruising to his left leg and wrist.
The men fled with money, a wallet and mobile phone, fleeing the scene in a silver Subaru Liberty.
The car was later found burnt out on Skyline Drive in Goonellabah.
The men are described as Aboriginal/Torres Straight Islander in appearance, around 18-20 years of age and were wearing balaclavas and hooded jumpers.
