Two people have had a lucky escape after fire tore through a house in Garden Suburb overnight.
A 60- year-old woman was in the house with her son-in-law when the fire broke out at about 12:30.
She heard the flames and ran outside, alerting her son in law by bashing on his window.
He and his dog jumped to safety.
Fire crews worked until 3am to contain the blaze which destroyed the back of the house.
The fire is thought to have started on the back deck, but forensic crews are still investigating the cause.
