VIDEO MEDICINE PROPOSED FOR MULLUMBIMBY HOSPITAL
Nurses at Mullumbimby Hospital are accusing the New South Wales Local Health District of jeopardising patient care to save money.
The department has came under fire after revealing it’s considering replacing the hospital’s overnight emergency doctor with a Video Medicine System.
Under the proposed changes, patients would be assessed by doctors via a state of the art video conferencing program called the Connecting Critical Care System.
“Only an average of two patients on the night shift attend Mullumbimby hospital so it’s our belief that using this tele-medicine technology that Doctor from tweed can asses those patients and support those nurses in their treatment.”
