NEW NURSES HEAL STAFF SHORTAGE

A nursing shortage has been avoided on the Far North Coast with 62 first-year graduate nurses commencing work in our local hospitals.

33 will now work across the Richmond Clarence network and 29 in Tweed Byron.

“We’re very pleased because it means we’ll be able to maintain our workforce and look after people in the hospitals.”

Many of the nurses will spend the next year rotating between rural and base hospitals trying out different clinical areas.

“that’s really beneficial because it gives you a taste of everything so you know oh, I don’t really like that or this is really good.”
