Laurieton council has started development works at Longworth Park.
The works will see the installation of pathway linkages, garden beds and park seating at the corner of Bold and Laurie Streets.
$138,000 has been allocated to the development which is expected to be finished in April.
A proposed roadside carpark surrounding the development is anticipated to commence at a later date.
Traffic is not expected to be disrupted during the project.
