FORESTS NSW SHUTS WORKSHOP IN COFFS

Forests New South Wales has confirmed a number of job cuts will be taking place at its operations in Coffs Harbour.

An organisation spokesperson has told NBN News, five staff will be affected with the Beryl Street premises earmarked to close down.

Two staff members in the works depot and radio services operations, will be relocated to the new site at a nearby industrial area.

However three staff in the mechanical workshop now face an uncertain future.

Forests New South Wales says it no longer needs the workshop as it’s begun contracting for heavy plant.

The site on Beryl Street has also been nominated to accommodate the proposed new police station and court house.
