POLICE INVESTIGATE SEXUAL ASSAULT IN LISMORE

Police are reminding women not to walk alone at night after an alleged sexual assault in Lismore at the weekend.

A 37-year-old woman was walking along Zadoc Street at around 4.30 on Saturday morning when she was allegedly grabbed from behind and assaulted.

“Understandably she was traumatised by the incident, she has been given councillors who are providing ongoing support”

Police are now conducting forensic examinations on a number of items.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity around Zadoc Street to contact police.
