Nathan Tinkler has withdrawn his offer to buy the Newcastle Knights.
The mining magnate sent an email to board members this morning informing them of his decision.
He also laid the blame for his decision squarely on the shoulders of club directors, stating that he believes an offer to guarantee the club $10 million a year and operate as a not for profit organisation will never be repeated.
He goes on to say that the community “deserves better than it has been getting and I hope you can apply as much energy to moving it forward to deliver better outcomes as you have to holding it back in this process. Tew and Burro rejoice, you keep YOUR club.”

SHAME NEWCASTLE SHAME GET RID OF THOSE IDIOTS THAT ARE RUNNING THE KNIGHTS AND REPLACE THEM WITH SOMEBODY WITH THE FORESIGHT TO THE FUTURE. I WONT BE GOING TO ANYMORE KNIGHTS GAMES WHILE THIS GROUP OF IDIOTS ARE STILL IN CHARGE .

Not much to say, except that again we have people with no foresight running a Club .All what worries them is to loose their job and can.t put the hands in the till.The Board from the Newcastle Knights is a joke, totally incapable to run a Business.I hope the members are going to kick them out.
A great opportunity lost;hope the members throw the Board out.I suspect they are more interested in their own hip pockets,not the overall future of the Knights.
How dare they? I say we take a leaf out of egypts book and remove these incompetant and self centred fools from our club.
The Knights board??? I think Slim Dusty says it best in a song Big Frogs in Little Puddles. I’d like to see some evidence that they were commited to doing the best for the club & not themselves. So far Nathan Tinckler has backed his promises with money, so Why didn’t the members get a vote ???
Good on you Nathan, they are idiots – hope the members go ahead and take a vote of no confidence in this useless board and you will then have another opportunity to take the Knights forward. I think Tew and Burraston have their own agenda!!!!!
Mr Burraston hasn’t changed at all,what a shame for Newcastle Knights,the Members should have a right to vote on Nathan Tinklers proposal. He is the same as what he was as a coach ARROGANT.
Will any of the 8,000 Members of the Newcastle Knights call an extraordinary meeting of the Club to discuss this matter and take any appropriate action they feel necessary to deal with ?
Not only did we, the members not get to vote on this, we did not even get to see what the offer was.only from the media.
maybe the club board was not all to blame, maybe a certain soccer fan,knights disliker politican may have had a word in

Re Stuart John Pearson are any members going to call an extraordinary meeting?…… A meeting was held at the Mark Hotel in Lambton @ 6.00 tonight to start the ball rolling, I left at 6.45 at that stage over 50 members had signed a petition to call an extraordinary meeting of Knights members.
so will this petition be anywhere else to sign i had to chair a meeting at 7, so could not get to lambton buy time i found out where it was being held
