FARM WATCH EMERGENCY MESSAGE DELIVERED

Harvest time is approaching for local growers signalling a dangerous time on farm.
The Farm Watch Emergency Card was officially launched today, providing some simple tips about what information farmers should pass on when calling triple zero.
“In a stressful situation valuable information can get lost and that also adds time to the response of the emergency service, Westpac Community Liason Officer Michael Wilson said.
Local Farmer Richard Chamen says the initiative is vital in ensuring people act accordingly when faced with unexpected situations.
“We’ve had a couple of incidents around our area where people have had accidents, phoned for an ambulance to come out and they ask you where do you live how far away from town what are your GPS coordinates, he said.
