A 24-year-old woman is assisting police over a suspicious house fire in Ballina overnight.
Just after three o’clock, firefighters were called to a Cronulla street home to find the lounge room alight.
The woman, who had climbed out of the upstairs window and onto the roof, had to be rescued.
Firefighters quickly doused the blaze which destroyed furniture, and the smoke caused damage to the building.
Police established a crime scene, and arrested the woman on other matters.
