AUSSIE GREAT PASSES AWAY

One of Australian rugby league’s oldest Kangaroos, Neville Ned Andrews, has died.

Last October, Mr Andrews was presented with a signed jersey by some of the game’s modern greats.

His playing career began in Newcastle in the 1930s, and after fighting in the Second World War, he went on to play for New South Wales and Queensland, before becoming the 277th player to represent Australia in 1950.

“I got one and I thought gee I have to hide this or my young one will knock this off ha ha”

Mr Andrews was 89.
