FOUR THROWN INTO WATER AFTER BOAT CAPSIZES AT BRUNSWICK BAR

Marine Authorities say four men were lucky to escape uninjured after their boat capsized on the Brunswick Bar just before eight this morning.

The group was going spear fishing, when the vessel hit a wave and capsized.

“They didn’t wait, they just went gung ho through a few waves then flipped up really high, and completely overturned their vessel”

Police and surf lifesavers went to help, but the men managed to scramble onto the rocks unaided.

Volunteer Marine Rescue is reminding boaties to be vigilant, even when bar conditions are favourable.

“”You still have to go slow and radio in to the tower log on before you cross and we can tell you what we can see.”
