WALLIS LAKE TO BE DREDGED
The New South Wales government has confirmed it will press ahead with the dredging of Wallis Lake in the new year.
Member for Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead says the dredging is necessary to maintain the region’s thriving oyster industry.
He says it will also benefit the thousands of tourists who visit Forster-Tuncurry and use the lake for recreation.
The Crown Lands Department will meet with Great Lakes Council, oyster farmers and boaters in the new year to begin preparations.
