While the ground floor of Casino’s brand new Community and Cultural Centre is bustling with life, upstairs looks likely to remain deserted for some time.
Richmond Valley Council and the Casino Neighbourhood Centre are locked in a stalemate, over who is responsible for paying for the installation of toilets on the top floor.
“Well someone is going to have to afford it so it’s really, sit down again around the table and work it out.
Despite the ongoing dispute, Council says it’s keen to find a solution to move the neighbourhood centre in as soon as possible.
“Our doors are open, very difficult to get people to talk to you if they don’t want to.”
