Suffolk Park residents are welcoming Byron Shire Council’s move to have the
controversial Telstra Mobile Tower on the Byron Hills watertank relocated.
Council has written to the Telco giant, recommending the tower be moved to the Byron Golf Club, where approval has recently been granted for an Optus tower.
There’s been strong community opposition to the Telstra structure since 2002 – many residents want the land used as a community space.

Council is hoping for a response within 60 days.
