ALUMINIUM COMPANY FINED OVER INDUSTRIAL DEATH

An aluminium products company has been fined $600,000 over the death of a worker at a storage facility in Newcastle, four years ago.
The 27-year-old was working at Ullrich Aluminium at Mayfield, when he was crushed by a tonne of aluminium being repositioned by another worker, using a crane.
A similar fatal accident had occured previously at an Ullrich plant in Sydney.
