A contoversial development proposal for the Bonville Golf Resort has been passed by Coffs Harbour City Council.
Owners of the golf resort have been given the go ahead for the 576-lot housing development.
Residents of Bonville, who were opposed to the project, staged protests over the plans which they claim will harm the amentity of the rural area.
The medium to low density housing project will also include a shopping centre.
More than 12-hundred people are expected to live in the new village when it’s completed.
