A 28-year-old Newcastle man has been charged with murder, following the stabbing death of a 48-year-old man earlier this year.
Peter Dent was found suffering multiple stab wounds outside his Hamilton South apartment block in the early hours of August the 10th.
Witnesses had reported seeing him being attacked by two men following an argument.
He later died from his injuries in John Hunter Hospital.
Police formed Strike Force Congregational to investigate his death, and recently made a public appeal for witnesses to come forward.
The accused is due to face Newcastle Local Court this afternoon.
