Over 500 national and international rugby sevens players today battled it out in Byron Bay as part of the annual Rugby Sevens tournament.
Men’s and women’s teams from as far away as Fiji and Samoa battled it out in Round Robin events today, and the competition was fierce.
“It’s fairly intense, very intense. Everyone puts in seven minutes halves so they have the energy to put in for that 15 minutes their on the field in total”
Today’s results determine what grade each team plays in tomorrow’s knockout rounds.
The finals start from 1.30pm.
