Kempsey’s Warwick Park racecourse is set to spring back into action this weekend, after being closed for nearly two years.
The track was closed in February last year after a contractor allegedly overdosed it with weed killer.
Since then, the Kempsey Race Club has been holding its meetings at neighbouring tracks.
The Warwick Park facility will reopen on Saturday for a five-race community meeting, featuring children’s rides and fundraising for the Cancer Council.
The race club is also looking ahead to next month when the annual Kempsey Cup Day will finally return to its home course.
