Workers have returned to parts of the NCIG coal loader expansion site now deemed safe, after tests last week confirmed the presence of asbestos.
Tests continue to be carried out a number of other sections – they’re expected to be open by the end of the week.
NCIG says a substantial amount of the suspect material has already been removed.
The asbestos was found in 100 tonnes of recycled aggregate concrete, brought onto the site three months ago.
