The navy set a course for the Five Islands School in Lake Macquarie for the first visit in a program that looks like blossoming in the future.
Crew members of HMAS Tobruk left their mark, landscaping the school grounds.
Students happily helped out, and were thrilled just to have the team from the Tobruk stop by.
The school, for children with physical and intellectual disabilities, is planning a reciprocal visit to the ship.
