Police on the state’s north coast are at the scene of a double fatality on the Pacific Highway at Bangalow, near Possum Creek Road.
The head-on crash happened about 2.20am.
The drivers, a man and a woman, died at the scene. There were no passengers in either of the vehicles.
Police from the Northern Region Crash Investigation Unit are at the scene.
The Pacific Highway remains open to traffic; however delays are expected as one lane in both directions will remain closed.
