A New Zealand man has drowned in rough surf on the New South Wales north coast.
The 60-year-old was surfing with a group at the Angourie headland near Yamba, when he got into trouble.
It’s believed he may have become entangled in his leg rope.
A fellow surfer raised the alarm at around 1pm.
Emergency crews attended the scene, but were unable to revive the victim.
He’d been holidaying in the area, and was due to return to New Zealand with his wife this afternoon.
