The community of Dondingalong, west of Kempsey, closely resembled a snow field, after parts of the mid north coast were hit by a freak hailstorm yesterday afternoon.
Steve Griffiths, who sent in these pictures, found pieces of hail as big as a 20 cent coin piled up to three inches deep around his property.
Mr Griffiths reported no serious damage, however a driver was taken to hospital with chest injuries when a tree fell on the roof of his car during the wild weather.
