The Newcastle Jets have appointed Chief Operating Officer of Football Queensland, Ben Mannion, as their new General Manager of Football Operations.
He’ll begin his role on June 8.
Meanwhile club owner Nathan Tinkler has been issued with an official reprimand and counselled on his behaviour, after he verbally abused a Newcastle Herald journalist following the Jets loss to Sydney FC in round 26.
The mining magnate has seven days to appeal.
