NEW NSW HIGHWAY PATROL CRACKS DOWN ON RECKLESS DRIVING

More than 400 charges have been laid over the past year by a new specialist highway patrol, targeting high-risk driving across New South Wales.

Strike Force Puma has been deployed throughout the state, including Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and Central Coast.

The strike force has engaged car clubs to bring about changes in driving attitudes; while arrests following numerous wedding and genders reveal burnouts have worked to curb the illegal activity.

Officers have also charged an Indian national, here on a student visa, who had more than $20,000 outstanding fines, and a disqualified driver who allegedly rammed a police car.
