Lismore has become home to a unique plaque.
The council this week dedicated a 760 kilogram rock to a former contestant of the television series, ‘Gladiators’.
Australia’s Strongest Man, Derek Boyer, set a world record in January when he lifted the sizable stone, which was purchased from the Lismore Quarry.
He says it rates highly among his achievements, and hopes the Lismore Rock becomes a challenge for others.
“I know to a lot of people watching this, this will seem like a bizarre task. But in the greater scheme of things, you know these stones, they last for thousands of years. And it will always remain here.”
