I am astounded at the RSPCA worker’s comment that they couldn’t afford mammary gland surgery for the dog. RSPCA NSW has $50 million of unused donations sitting in spare cash and investments – excluding productive assets like shelter properties, vehicles and equipment. (see their 2012-2013 Annual report and financials). That could pay for a lot of surgery if used for the animals, without needing to mislead the public into thinking that they are struggling.
