KYOGLE TURKEYS FIGHT BRIGGS FOUR WEEK SUSPENSION

Still on rugby League, and the Kyogle Turkeys will fight a four week suspension handed to David Briggs for kicking Evans Head player, Al Campbell in Saturday’s match.

Coach Mark Doolan doesn’t deny the offence took place but says the penalty is too harsh.

“he’s been given a four week sentence with a minimum of $400 fine. I don’t believe it’s worth that, I believe it could be downgraded to something less.”

Mr Doolan says a one week suspension or a suspended sentence would be a more appropriate.

Brigg’s fate will be finalised at judiciary hearing in Lismore tonight.
