REX FLIGHT TURNS BACK AFTER WINDSCREEN CRACKS

A Rex flight from Lismore to Sydney was forced to turn back this morning after a flight attendant noticed a minor crack on the windscreen shortly after takeoff.

Rex airlines say the crack affected the outer non-structural layer of the windshield, which is a common occurance and has no impact on the aircraft’s operation.

However the pilot decided to return to Lismore.

The 19 passengers on board were put onto other flights, and Rex engineers will now inspect the plane to determine the cause of the crack.
