A 19-year-old man has died following a car and bus collision near Uralla early this morning.
At about 1:30, emergency services were called to the New England Highway 12 kilometres south of Uralla.
Police say the driver of a south-bound white Toyota Camry was an unaccompanied learner driver.
The north-bound coach had eight passengers on board at the time of the collision, five were conveyed to hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.
The 50-year-old bus driver sustained shoulder, lower-back and hand injuries.
Investigations into what caused the crash are ongoing.
