There’s growing speculation Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting will stand down.

The 36-year-old is believed to have decided to relinquish his one-day and Test captaincy roles with his deputy Michael Clarke tipped to be announced as his successor at a press conference today.

The Victorian Supreme Court jury has found the man who threw his four-year-old daughter off Melbourne’s West Gate Bridge guilty of murder.

New South Wales Premier Barry O’Farrell has returned to the Central Coast just two days after his previous visit, to thank voters for their support.
