Newcastle council says it won’t be removing the Norfolk Island pine trees it has planted at Fort Scratchley.
Volunteers at the fort say the trees are in breach of heritage rules because they’ll grow too tall and spoil view corridors.
But the council says it’s considered the heritage factors and the plantings will stay.
