HUNTER SES ANSWERS FLOOD SOS

The New South Wales SES is preparing to lend Queensland a helping hand.

60 volunteers will travel to flood-prone areas.

They include six from the Hunter who will leave on Friday for the tiny town of Theodore, west of Brisbane.

“There is no water in the town or around the town at the moment so they’re going up there to help the people of the town get their life back in order which means they’ll be doing a lot of carting of rubbish. It’ll be very dirty work but they’re all very keen – put their hand up – and willing to go.”
