NORTHERN NEW SOUTH WALES FLOOD UPDATE

In NSW, heavy rain has fallen in the state’s north east with isolated falls of over 150
millimetres in the past 24 hours.
Currently around 4,400 people are isolated in various communities across the north coast,
with further heavy rains and floods expected in the coming 24 hours.
Tenterfield has become isolated following heavy rain that is currently being experienced in
the area.
Heavy rain in the upper reaches of the Clarence Valley has resulted in significant stream
rises, resulting in isolation of Tabulam and nearby rural properties.
Major flooding is expected to develop today in Grafton and downstream at Ulmarra. The
SES advises this may lead to the closure of the Pacific Highway north of Grafton.
The isolation of several hundred people is likely in rural communities downstream of
Grafton. The SES is currently working with these communities to ensure they are prepared.
In addition, approximately 500 people have been isolated in Bonalbo, a further 500 have
isolated in the Darkwood and Upper Thora communities, and 150 people in Ewingar.
